For the restless going away for a while…May 8th, 2012
Dear people,
this website as you know it will soon cease to exist. But, not to worry, there will be a new one… I hope. Progress is terribly slow and I’m not very gifted at this thing.
However since the current site is simply too large to allow me develop a new site the way I want to, the tour archives have dissappeared to clear up webspace.
I’m sorry, but it’s a necessary evil.
Hopefully the result will be worth the very long wait.
As soon as the new site is showable, I’ll get back to you, I promise…

Lost 2001 date added to the tour archives: May 13th, 2001, Ronnie Scott’sApril 17th, 2012
Again, while searching ebay for McRae collectables my eye stumbled upon an early tour poster, listing a few 2001 dates.
Not only did one gig happen one day earlier than my account, there was also one gig missing from the itinerary.
Now added for completeness: May 13th, 2001, Ronnie Scott’s, Birmingham UK.
Also added an (unconfirmed) 2000 date at the Shepherd’s Bush, opening (probably ?) for World party… apparently on September 28th.
If this holds any truth it is the earliest gig I could find so far. Any additional info on it would be nice though…

Studio Time !April 17th, 2012
Tom and the gang have entered the studio on April 12th for the recording and mixing of the new album.
Besides the two Olli’s Tom has also been joined by… Brian Wright. And there’s proof of that…
The gang’s all back together, now for ten days in Wales tracking the new album. Trying to contain my excitement.
Keeping Brian Wright happy in the studio is a full time job. And being from Texas, his head feels the cold so we had to improvise a hat.
I’ve been reduced to tea boy on this album. It’s for the best. If anyone wants anything the kettles on. Permanently.

The Newsletter and the removal of it.April 15th, 2012
Dear all,
It has been decided that the newsletter as it stands at this moment will be removed soon.
In these times of social media the newsletter has lost it’s momentum, and besides the odd
email every year (!) it wasn’t all that active anyway.
Those who are still subscribers will be sent an email to inform them,
and if there is little or no resistance it will be replaced…
The newsletter section in the menu will be replaced with a social button, where all the new additions
can be found instantly, through facebook or twitter or both, that’s up to you to decide.

“Tom McRae” “Just like blood” vinyl (re)release in the works.March 23rd, 2012
Having been in touch with music on vinyl, the leading vinyl manufacturer these days, I sent them the request to repress the Tom McRae albums on vinyl, including those who have never seen the black wax.
Tom McRae has been in touch on his twitter account responding with the fact that the rights to the first albums have been cleared, and the two albums will get a repress for the next tour.
“my old label has got the rights back to first 2, so expect a short vinyl run in time for the next tour.”
Now ain’t that the good stuff ?

A little bit of newsMarch 6th, 2012
Tom has been announced to perform on the Lyrikkfestival in Haugesund, Norway on May 19th.
This will be a solo gig.
There has also been a few updates on his new upcoming album.
There is a tentative release for late 2012 (unlikely), or early 2013 (highly likely).
The new album will be accompanied by a full tour, recording is scheduled to start in April.
There is an odd chance of an ep coming out this year to fill in the gap, and a summer specked with a few performances, most likely solo.
That’s all we have at the moment folks !
